Description

This Blue Iris Print is a high quality giclée reproduction of my original acrylic painting using archival materials. This print is of a single swirling blue iris and is a prime example of how I enjoy blending the colors of an organic image. The sharp contrast of the yellow background with the green leaves serves to intensify the image of the iris.

Interesting Fact
In Greek the name iris translates to rainbow which traces back to Greek mythology.  A Greek goddess named Iris delivered messages from the gods. Iris would use rainbows to travel as she moved between heaven and earth.

The Process

• First a high resolution scan is made of the artwork.
• Photoshop is used to enhance the edges of the artwork.
• I use an Epson archival printer with pigmented inks to make a canvas print.
• This print is coated with 2 applications of varnished to insure the long life of the print.
• The canvas is stretched over 5/8 inch stretcher bars using a gallery wrap.
• Lastly a wire is installed insuring your canvas print arrives ready to hang.
