Description

This Orange Hibiscus Print is a Giclée canvas print of my original acrylic painting. The main flower is bright orange with yellow accents. From the leaves you can see new buds ready to grow into beautiful blossoms. I am strongly attracted to these beautiful flowers with their giant petals and variety of colors, I love surrounding myself with both the images and the real thing as they bring feeling of warm, exotic, tropical climates.

Interesting Fact
Hibiscus flowers aren’t just beautiful. Many different cultures such as Egypt, Africa and Iran have used the dried calyxes from the hibiscus flowers to make tea to treat a variety of health problems including heart disease, constipation, and to heal wounds. Studies have shown that hibiscus may be beneficial in treating cancer, high blood pressure, and weight loss.

The Process

• First a high resolution scan is made of the artwork.
• Photoshop is used to enhance the edges of the artwork.
• I use an Epson archival printer with pigmented inks to make a canvas print.
• This print is coated with 2 applications of varnished to insure the long life of the print.
• The canvas is stretched over 5/8 inch stretcher bars using a gallery wrap.
• Lastly a wire is installed insuring your canvas print arrives ready to hang.
