Description

This Lotus Print is a giclée canvas print that was made using archival materials. This print has a dominant purple lotus emerging from the water surrounded by lily pads. A dragonfly flies into the scene attracted by the flowers and water. Not only is the lotus flower beautiful but it is associated with Yoga and other Eastern Teachings. I plan on doing more studies of these intriguing flowers.

Interesting Fact
The lotus starts it’s life in muddy water, then as it rises about the water it is cleansed opening into a beautiful flower. Because of this incredible transformation the lotus stands as a symbol of purity of heart.

The Process

• First a high resolution scan is made of the artwork.
• Photoshop is used to enhance the edges of the artwork.
• I use an Epson archival printer with pigmented inks to make a canvas print.
• This print is coated with 2 applications of varnished to insure the long life of the print.
• The canvas is stretched over 5/8 inch stretcher bars using a gallery wrap.
• Lastly a wire is installed insuring your canvas print arrives ready to hang.
